I am not sure if you could find better weather for a hamfest than what we had on Sunday. Little chilly in the morning, but not too chilly. Sunny skies all day. Great turnout from White County and good time had by all. Best of all White County has a new ham. Congratulations Leroy Lucas on getting your ticket!
On Sunday August 21 we will be informally meeting at Cracker Barrel in Lafayette before the Lafayette Hamfest. Plan on being there around 0615. Everyone is welcome!
Thanks to Tony Tolbert from Hoosier DMR, WCARS had a great presentation on DMR at this evening’s monthly meeting. We had a good crowd and everyone enjoyed the session and some hands-on time with new radios.
Reminder that tonight is our monthly meeting at the USA Family Restaurant in Reynolds. Tony Tolbert will be joining us this evening.
The TNC-Pi arrived on Wednesday from Coastal Chipworks. I already had a Raspberry Pi that I wanted to re-purpose, so I just had to disable a couple programs that I was running on it and “plug and chug”. I purchased the assembled and tested TNC-Pi. I’m not too sure of my soldering skills and I’m not quite ready for even that simple of a build. The only thing I needed to do was decide which radio I was going to use and build a cable.
